This video covers the Taming the Beast quest chain from the point just prior to Thotar offers you a taming Rod for just a Dire Mottled Boar in Razor Hill. Thotar gives you a series of three taming rods, each one differs and enables you tame beasts in the subsequent order: Dire Mottled Boar, Surf Crawler and finally an Armored Scorpid.

When my company you have done the taming Element of the Quest chain, you must head to Orgrimmar and speak to Ormak Grimshot from the Valley of Honor as a way to unlock your companion pet handling skills: Tame Beast; Feed Pet; Revive Pet; and Beast Training.
